POSITION TITLE: Market Research Manager JOB TYPE: Permanent Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

Our client, a multi-billion dollar diversified global manufacturer is looking for a Market Research Manager to fill a newly-created position in their largest division. This is both a strategic and hands-on job that requires a market research expert to build a research infrastructure and implement projects. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing an internal structure for managing, collecting, analyzing and applying market intelligence data to deliver on growth strategies and strategic decision making.

This person will use their market research expertise to develop and define a consistent market segmentation structure. They are responsible for the development, implementation and project management of research techniques and related output including voice of customer interviews, secondary research and market intelligence. This individual will also lead the development of training and deployment of marketing research competency and establish a methodology to identify targeted markets to pursue.

Other responsibilities include defining project scope, design, development and deliverables, as well as field, analyze, and interpret data and create reports. Experience defining market size and growth rates, econometric forecasts, competitive intelligence and business trends and drivers are critical.

The qualified candidate will have a bachelor’s plus an MBA in market research with 5-7+ years experience in B-to-B market research with an industrial manufacturer. You will be well-versed in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, analysis of customers, markets, competition, and global macro economic conditions. Excellent interpersonal and consensus-building skills are required to be successful in this high-decentralized and matrixed environment. Travel 30 - 50% of the time

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, or economics related field with MBA in market research.
  • 5-7+ years experience in B-to-B market research with an industrial manufacturer.
SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • be able to work independently on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to utilize both inductive and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Strong analytical, qualitative and quantitative research skills.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience.
